P: Si pudieras ser el guitarrista en un grupo de 5 personas, ¿qué músicos vivos o muertos elegirías?
Steve: Es una pregunta difícil, hay muchos músicos con mucho talento para hacer un grupo de ensueño. Ya he tocado con muchos de los mejores músicos que todavía están vivos. Sería interesante una banda con músicos muertos como Keith Moon a la batería, Barry Oakley (ALLMAN BROS.) al bajo, J.S. Bach tocando el órgano Hammond y Brad Delp cantando.
P: Desde que te uniste a DEEP PURPLE, ¿qué canción te ha costado más tocar??
Steve: Con el grupo, es bastante fácil tocar la mayoría de las canciones. Pero a pesar de la dificultad del solo de "Cascades", o las partes arpegiadas que son muy técnicas, todavía disfruto haciéndolo. De los temas que tocamos, llegar a la decimosexta nota al final del solo de “Highway Star” como lo hacía Ritchie, requiere mucha concentración.
P: Te gusta llevar ropa relacionada con los nativos americanos. ¿Tienes algún tipo de herencia india?
Steve: Tengo la típica herencia americana mezclada, predominando la herencia europea. Realmente soy caucásico. He estado muy en consonancia con los nativos americanos desde que leí la historia de EE UU. He contribuido a numerosas causas a favor de ellos contra los abusos del gobierno, y eso no quiere decir que no sea un patriota. También colecciono ropa india o indígena, joyería, adornos, ese tipo de cosas.

Spanish authorities have prosecuted a child for terrorism! Incredible but true!
14-year-old Èric Bertran e-mailed companies requesting labeling in
Catalan language, using the "Phoenix" monicker from the Harry Potter
books. The Spanish police accused him of organizing an Al Qaeda cell.
The authorities took him all the way to the Spanish High Court.
From August 27 to September 2, we're getting the word out, through
blogs, press releases, and other media. Here's the idea: We want this
film about the Èric Bertran case to be seen as many times as possible
from September 3rd to 9th, so that it ends up ranking in the "most
watched" circuit.
Through this coordinated effort, with the help of new communications
and information technologies, we hope to get some international
coverage of this case, and the true deficit of democracy in the
Spanish State, as well as the fact that the Catalan people are now
demanding their right to define themselves as a sovereign nation.
